As I sit here on a snowy Sunday, spring has never seemed further away. In SL, however, spring is already starting to show itself, especially in this fun and flirty outfit by kata0nik. Now, I never though I would buy any kind of mesh breast attachments, as they just don't really jibe with my personal style....however, I'll fully admit to being charmed by the sort of "blow-up doll cutsey/kawaii cupcake" look that has accompanied the popularity of Lola's Tango breasts, in particular.

Turns out that I DO actually like fake boobs so long as they're part of a look that is sweet enough to give a person a tooth ache. The Sugar Garden's skins, makeup, and clothing are my favorites for achieving this look, and now I'm happy to see that katat0nik is contributing to this trend.

I put together this scene rather quickly, as I wanted the outfit to take center stage.  I've included a few pieces from the new parlour set by fri.home, which is just great. Run out and get it if you haven't yet!  I've also got my new Scarlet Creative home set up, but am still in the process of decorating. It's a much bigger space than what I usually have, so it could take me a while!

Wow, this week's Fifty Linden Friday has really impressed me with all the cute furniture releases that are available for 50L!  In fact, I'm going to rush this post a bit so that it goes up before Saturday, so that those of you who haven't been out shopping yet can see what you're missing.  The first big news is that the store fri.day is teaming up with Floorplan on a new line of home decor, and from what I've seen so far, it looks great!  The entry table and assorted decor is on special for FLF, and comes in at a modest 4LI.  Now, I'm not sure what's going on with all the book-themed furniture lately, but being an avid reader myself, I approve of this trend!  The cute book shelf frames are a FLF item by .lame, and the spool book table and book lamp are both on sale for FLF at Floorplan's main store. Make sure you go buy all this cute stuff before midnight tonight!

I love this rabbit hoodie by u.f.o., but I wanted to pair it up with something other than the skirt it came with. I've been wanting this lace-edged skirt by NuDoLu for a while, and I thought they looked super cute together. Fair warning, though - it's extremely challenging to find hair that fits under this hoodie.  I ended up just going with some bangs and a hairbase to mimic the look of a tucked in ponytail, but that's because I was being a perfectionist and didn't want any hair sticking out through the hoodie at all.  If you're less picky than me, then you may be able to use a wider variety of hair styles underneath it. It's a cute enough ensemble that I didn't mind having to go with a somewhat plainer hairstyle.

Notes:
Vespertine is one of my favorite creators of furniture and homes, so I put together a look inspired by this skybox and moon lamp that were prizes for the Cold Winters Night Hunt. The woodsy wallpaper and moon lamp make me think of the darker children's stories, like Little Red Riding Hood and Alice in Wonderland. The wooden shelves even remind me of the door that Alice crawls through after she falls down the rabbit hole.

My fairy tale look is helped along with the new whimsical pose set by Imeka and a very elaborate hairstyle by Elikatira. Make sure you grab it while the retirement sale is still going on! (Hopefully it's not over as I write this). I love the shape of this skirt by Elate - it's beautifully made. They have a reduced price version out for Fifty Linden Fridays, in a pink Valentine's color, but I wanted it in this color, instead!

As for the white rabbit ears.... the reference should be clear, right? :)

Notes:

Well, my inventory is majorly cluttered, in particular with odds and ends that I've been picking up at various events, some discounted and some not. I also have a ton of Hunt items I have yet to put to good use. Most of the prizes have been fantastic, too, but RL has kept me from blogging in a prompt and timely manner, unfortunately!

 

One evetn that you can still check out is Atelier Kreslo, which will have these adorable chairs by Zigana and Flowey through mid-February. I love the poses that the chair comes with, and the unique fabrics and patterns. A new round of Fameshed has also begun and while I've only grabbed a few things so far, I like what I see!

 

Most of what I'm wearing is mixture of Collabor88 and various FLF items I've had building up in my inventory folder. I like the look I came up with at the last minute; Ingenue's clothing always has those cute vintage shapes that I'm a fan of. The scarf/snood I'm wearing is also color-change and the perfect accompaniment to a dressy winter outfit.

 

However, I don't know about you all, but I'm hoping for Spring!

I admit it: I'm an SL furniture junkie. If you have land, I don't know how you can't be - especially when there are so many fantastic creations being churned out for a very reasonable impact to your wallet and prim-count. A new up and coming favorite is .lame furniture by Divine Falodir; I just love how colorful most of the items are. With that said, this new spring-themed loveseat is in a more muted pallete that suits the mood of this photoshoot. It also goes great with the new goodies from Cheeky Pea for the latest round of Collabor99, as well as the set by Scarlet Apples. Scarlet Apples is a relatively new collaboration between Scarlett Creative and Apple Fall. They made a truly stunning home build for C88, too, but unfortunately I don't think it will fit on my plot. Those of you with lots of land should definitely snatch it up, though.

One thing I do have room for is this skybox for L&K prefabs, which I've been enjoying lately. I really love this entry area/nook, in particular.

My outfit is rather minimal today; I suppose I didn't want to compete with my fabulous room, for once. I went with the delicate and floaty babydoll dress from Tres-Blah and topped it with a giant hair bow. Add some long flowing Barbie hair from Catwa (a great deal on MP) and bingo, I'm a giant doll. I'm also wearing a new skin from Mother Goose that is very pretty, though it is a little muted by the windlight setting I'm using here. I'll probably use it again in a photoshoot with more bright light so that you can get a better look at it.

Back again so soon? Oh indeed. As usual, it's almost mid-January and I am only just now starting to blog some of the items I've picked up at our favorite monthly and Bi-weekly events - Fameshed, Collabor88, Designer's Warehouse, The Dressing Room Fusion, and more.

First, I hope everyone has marked their calendars because this week is the start of some great-looking hunts: The Four Walls Hunt, and the Cold Winters Night Hunt. The chair and ottoman in my room is the hunt prize from %Percent for the Four Walls Hunt. It comes with a bunch of cute poses and rezzes props, as well, like this bottle of beer I'm sipping. Furniture fanatics also shouldn't miss the new cozy nook by .lame, which is out for this month's round of Fameshed. It comes in two versions, bright or neutral. I have the bright one because I was wearing a bright outfit. Yes, I match my decor to my clothes - doesn't everyone? ;)

The fall I bought a cute black (fake) leather skirt and have been a bit enchanted with leather skirts ever since. If I could find one in this same green color as Milk Motion's skirt, I would snatch it up straight away. I've added in some hair and shoes from the latest Collabor88, a cute wolf sweater from BCC, and fun accessories from LaGyo that were collecting dust back in my inventory. Also, as much as I like mesh, I still enjoy system clothes for layering purposes, but fewer and fewer people seem to be making them. Luckily, there are still stores on the grid like Nylon Outfitters that make cute system tops!

Those of you who aren't in the JeSyLilo skin group ought to consider joining, as well! It's only 50L to join, and Lilo Glom puts out gifts on a pretty regular basis. Definitely worth it, as most pay VIP groups are, in my experience.

NOTE: I made an error when I said that the Nash chair and ottoman by %Percent were part of the Four Walls Hunt; the chair was actually available for the Garden Market Fab4 sale, which is now over. :( However, %Percent's Plato Novo has told me that if anyone wanting to buy the %Nash Chair writes her and says they saw it on my blog, they'll be refunded the difference until 1-20-13.  (The sale price was $40, and the current store price is $175). Definitely a great deal you should take advantage of!
